Upon my recent travels to New York, I stumbled upon the greatest treasure of them all! Shanghai Heping was its name, and let me just say that it was mind blowing. I had the Shanghai noodles and at first I was a little questionable about whether or not I had chosen the right thing off of the menu. Fortunately, one of the waiters was so kind to help me decide what to get. The noodles had this weird ingredient in them that I had never encountered before. After much deliberation, I finally tried this new ingredient, only to find out it was bamboo shoots! It tasted amazing and totally brought out the unique flavor of the noodles. For a side dish I chose the seafood fried rice. This was somehow more amazing then the noodles! The first thing I noticed was the huge plate it was presented on, and that the there was enough rice to fill the plate. As I dug into my rice wth the first spoon full, I noticed that there were scallops and octopus chunks in there. It was fantastic! Thankfully the rice was fried, and not deep fried like other wannabe restraunts. No soy sauce was needed either! At just $5 a plate, affordable is the keyword in their description. So whenever you are in Chinatown, check out Shanghai Heping.

Butter pecan blondie (Applebee's)
The first thing you need to know about this blonde delicacy is that it is sizzling and it is tasty. In terms of first impressions, it blew my mind! The pecans were nice and crunchy, and the butter enriched glazing that they bring you on the side collaborates perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. The moist blondie was warmed to perfection, and presented nicely on the sizzling skillet, sending my imagination into a frenzy. With a price tag of just $5.82 I was more than pleased with my visit to Applebee's. I would recommend this dish to anyone.

Chicken n' Dumplings (Cracker Barrel)
I've recently treated myself to some Cracker Barrel, and this time I decided to step outside of the box and try something new. Or maybe what I should really be saying is that I tried something that i'm not usually too fond of eating. I have had some extremely horrific experiences with chicken n' dumplings, whether it be because of a complete lack of seasoning or the fact that some people just have the simple audacity to fool around with a recipe that has already been perfected and taste tested. Maybe it was because I was in a good mood that day that I reached out and ordered the chicken n/ dumplings, i'm still not quite sure as to the reasons myself yet. Nonetheless i'm glad that I did take that leap of faith. I'm usually very pleased with my food when i come to Cracker Barrel, and this time thankfully was no different. The dumplings were very soft and carefully salted to perfection so as to not overpower the house seasoned chicken. The chicken breast to dumpling ratio was proportioned correctly, juicy, and most importantly, they were bite sized! The meal comes with your choice of any two of their delicious sides. I personally recommend their fried apple slices (double portions please!!!). Tie it all together with a 16 oz. bottle of root beer ( none refillable), and you've got yourself all the makings of a good meal.

Jack Daniels Burger (Ruby Tuesdays)
Throughout my writings I think you are going to find that my taste is a bit on the picky side, but believe me when I say that this burger was nasty. I'm talking about the Jack Daniels burger at Ruby tues. At first bite, the sheer anxiety of trying this burger that I see so frequently on the commercials masked the harmful taste from my tongue. However, the second bite wasn't so kind. The level of dryness can only be compared to the Sahara. Before I knew it I had already used up a whole cup of soda to help wash it down. Which Im never able to do by the way. The service was terrible and I found myself waiting to be served for over an hour. The waitress was rude. definitely not an experience I would like to repeat.

Wife Savers
When u first think about wife savers the name tells me I'm about to experience some fresh home cooking. Which is just what I got for about $6 and and some change. The chicken was well seasoned in a mustard batter. However the mashed potatoes were quite disappointing. All in all it is definately a must go.
